WACQT - Wallenberg Centre for Quantum Technology

WACQT is a national research programme aiming to lead Swedish quantum technology. The main project is developing a quantum computer surpassing conventional supercomputers. The world is on the verge of a quantum technology revolution with powerful computers, secure communications, and sensitive measuring instruments. WACQT is a 12-year SEK 1 billion effort, aims to position Sweden at the forefront of this expanding field. The programme focusses on quantum computing, simulation, communications, and sensing, developing Swedish expertise in these areas. WACQT is coordinated by Chalmers University of Technology, with involvement from: KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Lund University, Stockholm University, Linköping University, and University of Gothenburg. The research area quantum sensing is coordinated by Lund University, and quantum communication from KTH Royal Institute of Technology.
