About The Basement Project

The Basement Projects provides holistic Outreach Support, a Drop-in Service / Contact Centre and a contemporary Food Bank for young people under 25 who are facing crisis, homeless, or at risk of homelessness. Our work covers the County of Worcestershire. Our clients (young people & families) come from many, many different backgrounds and cultures and early interventions has broadened our reach, increased our success rates, and helped transform young lives. The mix of young people and need is far greater and too easily stereotyped. And the pandemic has impacted a far wider demographic and impacted on many young people not least through financial hardship, mental health and wellbeing, breakdown of relationships and immediate access to support. Outreach work is our experienced, qualified and expert Support Workers in the community, meeting a young person / family in a safe and mutual place of choice on a regular basis. Drop-in (and soon our "pop-up" drop in locations) allows young people to come to us, and the phone / website remain touch points for support. Our clients (the young people we support) are really varied from 16-year-old care leaver's to university students, young families single parents, LBGT and minority group The Drop in Service / Contact Centre is open for support and advice on: Monday to Friday - 12:00 to 4:00p for Drop-in Service face to face (ideally by appointment due to Covid-19) and 0900 - 16.30 by telephone - 01527 832993 Our service is holistic and based on the individual, we deliver directly through our expert team whilst partnering with key providers and statutory agencies. Our independence affords a flexible and tailored service. Common themes are * Sustaining Tenancy * Money Matters * Mental Health & Wellbeing * Health * Cooking on a budget * Employability from writing a CV, to application, interview preparation and in job mentoring. * Education * Social Integration / Social Events
