About youthSpark :: Ignite Justice. Inspire Change.
youthSpark stands with at-risk youth and their families, addressing direct service needs while working with collaborative partners to achieve systemic change. Our initiatives are designed to combat the commercial sexual exploitation of children, to support the well-being of children impacted by parental negligence or substance abuse, and to bridge the gap between services of the juvenile court and the needs of youth and their families. Mission :: To improve the lives of children who are exploited, abused, and neglected. Because of our close ties to and location at the Fulton County Juvenile Court, youthSpark is uniquely positioned to identify and respond to the most pressing needs of some of our city's most vulnerable children. Our primary focus is on ending that most heinous form of abuse: child trafficking. Vision :: To create a world where the spark inherent in every child has a chance to shine. Through our collective programs – and our fierce compassion – we’re working for change. Change for kids, their families and our entire community. Each of our programs will continue to grow and flourish as we move toward greater social change. With each success, we’ll expand our programs, our initiatives and our scope – one cause at a time. Today, we’re igniting justice and inspiring change in two main areas: 1. Ending child trafficking by focusing on both the supply and demand sides of the issue through youthSpark Voices (preventing high-risk girls from becoming victims) and A Future. Not A Past. (targeting the men who buy and sell). 2. Bridging the gap between the services provided by the Fulton County Juvenile Court and the needs of the youth and families under its jurisdiction.
