What I enjoy the most about my role as Vice President of Commercial and Hospitality Divisions for Carl M. Freeman Companies (CMFC) is developing properties that play a part in helping our residents create memories. It’s tangible - from people picking up groceries, grabbing dinner, getting ice cream or their nails done, it’s the little daily decisions made by our community residents that make the difference in their lives.At CMFC, we strive to make our commercial and hospitality properties destinations - “a place that people will make a special trip to visit.” Our priority is to seek the excellent and the unusual in planning, development, and management to enhance the experience for our customers and owners.On the commercial side, my responsibilities include growing the asset base and third-party management division; on the hospitality side my mission is ensuring we provide great, memorable and consistent experiences for members at all our venues. I oversee project design development and preparation of project plans, specifications and budget; playing the lead role in planning, executing, monitoring, controlling, and closing out projects. I’ve always had the ability to create bridges between different sectors of business and people to achieve mutually beneficial goals. I bring my financial, analytical, and problem-solving skills to projects and serve as a Managing Member of the Freeman Fund – the Freeman family’s principal investment vehicle. I source and evaluate potential acquisitions from a deal perspective, manage the onboarding process, and develop existing retail assets to promote and expand CMFC commercial activity leading to sustainable growth. I adhere to a management philosophy of surrounding yourself with the very best people, and then give them the space they need to take ownership over their responsibilities and achievements. That said, I feel lucky to lead such an excellent team of project managers, general managers and associates.Also, I serve as a trustee for the Carl M. Freeman Foundation, a member of the Landon Board of Trustees, Co-Chair for the Auxiliary Board for the National Links Trust, and the Advisory Board for Athletes for Hope.
