About Adrian Rush

I've been working professionally as a copy editor since 1994, and my work has consistently won accolades from writers, peers, clients, and supervisors. My goal is to use my skills to help writers sound the best they can and to get readers engaged with the copy. Although copy editing is my strong suit, I've also had experience as a project manager, when I coordinated the publication of the University of Notre Dame's annual undergraduate bulletin. I also have some experience with page layout. As for writing, I began my career as a freelance newspaper reporter, I currently freelance for The Motley Fool, and I did some writing for our clients at Notre Dame as well. My supervisory experience includes overseeing another editor when I worked at Notre Dame, and running The Motley Fool's copy desk in my manager's absence. Software experience includes Word, Excel, Outlook, and Sharepoint, as well as some exposure to InDesign, PageMaker, and QuarkXPress. I've worked in both Mac and PC platforms. Finally, in terms of editorial style, I've had experience with AP and Chicago, and I'm familiar with several others. At Notre Dame, I created and maintained a house style guide.Specialties: Grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Maintaining and creating house style. Taking on writing, supervisory, and project-management duties as needed.
