Undertook initial capital raise and selection of key management positions and organizational structure for success. Defined the architectural functional requirements to optimize media customer success, and developed the construction budgets and plans.

Designed an innovative relational data base structure to store and manipulate time series data sets for use in environmental monitoring, based on insights gained from government consulting assignments in Australia and studies for M.Sc. in ecommerce. Expanded on the data base design and wrote functional requirements for a cloud based data repository for environmental data that is accessible on a license basis. The initial version of ecodb was developed by a team in our Sydney office primarily using ColdFusion language. Application was subsequently rewritten by Mr. Edwards and enhanced to enable the publication of data sets to the ecodb supported public domain, and to enable the potential for both sharing and trading in environmental data sets. Soft launch of application was undertaken in late 2014 and rapidly saw early adopters, with commercial launch scheduled for April 2015.

Created the largest privately owned software firm in Australia (at the time) and which specialized in the Ingres development environment (similar to Oracle), with a staff of 60 and an annual budget of $4 million. The firm undertook development projects throughout the east coast of Australia, oftentimes using the in-house computing facilities that were located in our Sydney and Brisbane offices. Mr. Edwards was the Managing Director, undertook all project sales, and was ultimately responsible for all infrastructure acquisition, and quality of the software development that occurred over numerous client sites and in-house. Business commenced in 1985, and from 1990 was 100% morphed into a software products company.

Commenced as Systems Analyst, and progressively promoted to Consultant, then State Manager of successively larger States (Northern Territory, South Australia, and New South Wales); then after a joint venture arrangement with Deloitte, returned again as Regional Manager for three States (Queensland, New South Wales, Northern Territory) and became the firm’s Principal Consultant, and built and managed their most profitable offices. Undertook a number of significant IT Strategic Planning Projects.

•During this 18 month period sold the joint venture’s largest information technology strategic plan (to Brisbane City Council, Queensland (largest city council in the southern hemisphere), and became the Project Director for this eight month project comprised of a team of consultants that included the prior city Mayor. This project led to a series of ongoing projects. Also sold a large license to the firm’s IT and management methodology. •Was awarded the first of a series of approximately ten IT strategic plans with CSR Ltd (tenth largest Australian public company at that time), where Mr. Edwards reviewed all significant business units across various manufacturing divisions in Australia and New Zealand.
