Alex Silva Email & Phone Number

Alex Silva is a second year student, Class of 2026, majoring in Civil Engineering at UC Berkeley. Alex is a graduate of Nogales High School from La Puente, California. The summer before starting UC Berkeley Alex was a part of Cal's Pre-Engineering Program (PREP). During the program, he worked on a device that would allow agricultural workers to pick fruits, specifically strawberries, without having to bend down thus reducing their risk for developing health complications such as arthritis. Alex is passionate about wanting to help out low socio-economic neighborhoods by changing the way infrastructures around those areas confine them. During high school he ran the school's newspaper, was a founding member of the school's Math Club and was a Questbridge Finalist.

  A 10 month program that provides UC Application support, college preparation, and personal.development opportunities to 120 first generation, low-income, senior high school students of color. I provide one-one-support to 13 students and worked on editing 52 personal insight questions. Working in a team-oriented environment to optimize support for our program participants.
