I am a physicist with expertise in data analysis, machine learning, finance, image processing, optics and research management. My wide range of technical interests and solid background in mathematical physics has often helped me make connections between disciplines and generate new ideas. I've managed research teams, moving projects into products for Sharp and managing research projects for industrial clients as a university lecturer. I've applied machine learning in finance and DNA sequencing, invented new types of 3D displays, developed methods to verify diamonds by their sparkle, invented self-assembled polarisers, improved TV picture quality and studied the flight of traffic-accident victims.More than 20 patents, 25 refereed publications.
