A full stack developer, with a client side focus, developing responsive User Interface implementations using JavaScript, AngularJS, SCSS/LESS with CSS3. I have built web services using Java and Spring and supported legacy applications using Velocity templates and JQuery. I worked on the team that implemented the SAML based Single Sign On for the Hoover’s Online application (Shibboleth) for our largest client accounts.

Worked on a web-based scheduling, labor management and forecasting application. Responsible for maintaining and implementing new features for the Autoscheduler (Java). Rewrote the UI code for the Digital Logbook (XML, XSLT, JQuery/JQuery UI, Javascript, CSS). Work on custom development work for larger clients. Implemented a permissions framework that allowed more fine-grained access to certain parts of the Digital Logbook. Spent one year helping to rewrite back end so it followed the MVC design pattern, created many REST services, and worked on building a new Flex UI.

Was the only java developer in a 15 person company. Responsible for developing a Swing application, the Upload Utility, that generates several thumbnails, converts from multiple video types to Flash, and uploads them to Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3) to be streamed on the Flocasts websites. It was deployed using Java Webstart to allow users on both Macs and Windows machines access to the application. Created an applet version to allow better integration into the Flocasts websites. Also made custom versions of the uploader for internal use by Flocasts domain experts. The application allowed for reduced costs to the company by moving the server side processing over to the client and also by generating smaller file sizes on the client side - reduced the bandwidth costs of each upload.

Responsible for GUI development, HCI design, system task design documentation, unit testing, project estimation, resource scheduling, and design and implementation of the client and server components in Java. Included the use of a Versant database, JBoss application server, and Hibernate as the persistence mechanism.DoD Metadata Registry (MDR)09/2004 – 06/2005A Weblogic portal that provided developers access to registered XML data and metadata components, COE database segments, and reference data tables and related metadata information, in an Oracle database. Developed the front-end for version 5.0. Global Combat Support System (GCSS)02/2001 – 06/2004Prototyped the GCSS Watchboard that executed queries on a deferred basis based on a specified task schedule. Developed the query engine, responsible for execution of queries and query rollups. Developed the metadata production environment which improved the reliability, maintainability, and delivery process of metadata pertaining to data queries across disparate systems. Used Eclipse, custom bootstrapping, and the Eclipse Modeling Framework (EMF).Worked on a UI framework that added cut, copy, paste, save, and print to a common set of Swing UI objects. Standardized the common menu bar and toolbars. Helped to design and implement the Object Dispatcher, an RMI server that allowed one to fire custom events across JVMs.

Worked on a workflow project using Microsoft Infopath forms and a Liferay Portal Application. Back end components included a JBoss application server, the Spring Framework, a Hibernate persistence layer, and Oracle 10g.
