I'm currently in the Gilchrist Lab partnered with Dow Chemicals Co. researching deposition of hair care ingredients. Within this research, I develop microfluidic devices and use high-speed confocal laser scanning microscopy to directly image the interactions between the hair strand and conditioners/surfactants with varying shear conditions.

I had the role of leading my own research project in semiconductor coatings, investigating the impact different solutions have on conductivity and the possibilities for the future of electrochemical sensors. I'm also in charged of making sure all data is organized and consistently meeting with the head of the lab to discuss the progress of my research. I was able to gain experience in producing P3HT organic semiconductive polymer devices and analyzing these samples through high-speed confocal laser scanning microscopy.

I studied particles and their behavior when placed in solvents with varying viscosities. I assisted a Ph.D. student with her research on particles with Brownian motion and made multiple polymer coatings and analyzed how they react when different variables are changed.

As president, I collaborated with NSBE chapter presidents in other regions to build connections, arranged and managed cross-functional teams including overcoming prior financial setbacks, lead executive board meetings, created mutually beneficial company connections with our chapter and was responsible for organizing our chapter's trip to the NSBE annual national convention.

I was academic excellence chair where I organized all the meetings and conferences with other NSBE clubs at different universities. I was also responsible for any academic and career help students require such as assistance with classes, structured study sessions, etc. I've organized and hosted many study sessions allowing students to prepare for exams surrounded by engineers. I've also set up a tutoring program allowing underclassmen to receive help from upperclassmen and giving upperclassmen the opportunity to truly show what they've learned from their past courses. These events have created a wonderful environment for the NSBE community here at Lehigh, encouraging students to grow more comfortable balancing their social and academic life.
