In 2018, I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Geography from SUNY New Paltz, driven by a strong passion for fisheries research and education. From 2019 to 2021, I worked as an educator, designing and delivering both in-person and virtual environmental education programs that reached over 4,800 students and community members. During this time, I also contributed to the implementation and management of the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) glass eel community science project. My background includes extensive fisheries research skills. From spring 2021 to 2023, I served as a fisheries technician with the NYSDEC, where I conducted studies on annual diadromous fish populations (including striped bass, American shad, river herring, and Atlantic sturgeon) in the Hudson River to develop indices of abundance. I was subsequently promoted to a Fisheries Technician II where I now supervise technicians and lead fish surveys.
