Real Art Ways is a non-profit multi-disciplinary arts organization that was founded in 1975. The premiere destination for contemporary arts in Hartford, Real Art Ways features visual arts programming in 5 art galleries, cinema programming 364 days a year, educational programming for children and adults, a café, and a lounge. Within these spaces are offered rotating exhibits, independent films, live arts, and community events. As the Deputy Director of Real Art Ways (Hartford), oversight, delegation and implementation are key aspects of my role within the organization. I am the direct supervisor to the Front of House Manager (Operations, Event Management), the Education Manager, the Grant Writer and the Membership Coordinator. In addition, I am closely tied to the Communications Department (including Community Engagement) and the Visual Arts Department.Development is among my core responsibilities at RAW. My fundraising achievements are demonstrated in several different areas. As the project leader for our 2016 fundraising event, the Real Party, I came in under budget and raised significant support in individual, corporate and foundation support. This was by far the most successful fundraising event hosted by RAW. As an Individual Giving Manager, I have increased the member rate each year I’ve been at RAW and achieved a membership retention rate of 73% for 2015. As a Grant writer, I’ve secured over $142,500 in grant support from organizations such as the Travelers Foundation, the Greater Hartford Arts Council and the Joan Mitchell Foundation over the last three years.

Brooklyn based janus was formed in 2002 with the goal of presenting and creating new repertoire for the trio through commissioning projects and works-in-process collaborations. To date, janus has added over twenty new pieces to the trio library through individual submissions and collaborative projects with universities. Among the composers who have written for janus are Caleb Burhans, Anna Clyne, Andrew McKenna-Lee, Angelica Negron, Jason Treuting, Dan Trueman, and Barbara White. From its inception to the present, janus has collaborated with the composition departments from Princeton, Colgate, New York, Cleveland State, Columbia and Cornell Universities.Within New York City, janus has been featured at halls including Symphony Space, (le) Poisson Rouge, Joe’s Pub, WNYC’s Greene Space, The Tank, Roulette, BAM Café, Weill Recital Hall, and the Look and Listen Festival. Other group credits include performances at the Kennedy Center, the Cleveland Museum of Art, the Spark Festival (Minneapolis), Bowling Green State University (OH), the Glenwood Springs Center for the Arts (CO) and the Columbus Art Museum.janus is a New Amsterdam Records artist and can be heard on their debut release "i am not". They are also featured on "Gravity and Air" – a release by Andrew McKenna Lee.Personal responsibilities and accomplishments include:- Manage all financial aspects of the organization including payroll, taxes, and budgeting.- Ongoing grant-writing.- Spear-headed all of the fundraising campaigns since inception.- Cultivate individual donors. Created and maintain the donor database.- Maintain public relations with press (radio, print, blogs) through interviews, and the drafting of press releases.- Initiate and maintain relationships with prospective composers for upcoming commissioning/collaboration projects.

The United States Coast Guard Band is the premier band representing the United States Coast Guard and the Department of Homeland Security. The 55-member ensemble has performed at some of the most prestigious venues in the nation, including the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Lincoln Center, and Carnegie Hall. The Band also has a rich history of performing internationally: it is especially honored to have been the first American military band to perform in the former Soviet Union, with concerts in Leningrad and the surrounding area in 1989. In 2008, the Coast Guard Band became the first premier American military band to perform a concert tour of Japan. In addition, the US Coast Guard Brass Quintet and Saxophone Quartet performed throughout Taiwan to great acclaim in 2010, and the full band completed a tour in Taiwan in July of 2011.Based at the US Coast Guard Academy in New London, Connecticut, the Coast Guard Band frequently appears in Washington, DC, at presidential and cabinet level functions on formal and informal occasions. Historic events include National Christmas Tree lighting ceremonies, the American Bicentennial Celebration with President Gerald Ford, World War II Fiftieth Anniversary events in England, and Inaugural celebrations for every President since Herbert Hoover. Responsibilities included: - Coordinating national and international tours for the Coast Guard Band. This coordination involved bookings, concert management, travel logistics, tour finances and sponsor cultivation.- Creating and processing government travel vouchers for member reimbursement. - Purchasing of music and supplies for members.
