New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE) is the New Zealand government’s international business development agency. NZTE’s role is to help New Zealand businesses enter and grow in international markets. NZTE has 10 offices in New Zealand and staff in 36 locations around the world. In my role at NZTE I was responsible for the following:• Ensuring the smooth running of daily operations of the Consulate General and NZTE office (which has geographic responsibility for the whole of Canada). • Managing financial systems and all finance processes for the NZTE Canada office; planning and monitoring the budget; preparing financial plans and expense reports; handling all banking matters• Conducting research, analysing data and preparing general reports to support customer and Ministerial needs • Coordinating and organising trade and consular events • Providing consular support to New Zealanders living in Western Canada
