Health Services Representative

At the Center for Well-Being - Health Services, my responsibilities include rooming patients for providers and obtaining vitals. Performing procedures such as EKGs, venipunctures, ear lavages, and orthostatic BP readings, along with administering nebulizer treatment and IM injections. Conducting point-of-care (POC) testing, including H. Pylori breath tests, strep swabs, COVID swabs, UAs, HCGs, and glucose tests. My role also involves collecting, processing, and sending out laboratory specimens, as well as reporting any infectious diseases to the health department when necessary.

Performed patient intakes, vital signs, and educated patients about their surgeries, including comprehensive pre-operative and post-operative care. Assisted during Mohs surgery and excisions, ensuring a smooth and efficient procedure. Responsibilities included administering local anesthesia, preparing injections, carrying out suture removals, and providing thorough post-operative care to promote healing. Additionally, tasked with accurately charting in the electronic health record (EHR) to maintain precise patient documentation, managing referrals and prescriptions to facilitate continuity of care, and ensuring the sterilization of instruments to uphold the highest standards of safety and hygiene.

Served as both the president and financial chair of the UNC Charlotte Pre-PA Association, establishing valuable connections with various PA program admission committees and hosting engaging PA speaker events. Advocated for the PA profession while educating fellow students about its opportunities and requirements. In collaboration with the executive council, provided mentorship to peers and offered guidance on navigating the PA application process. Additionally, maintained finances for all club events, which included collecting dues, managing funds, and purchasing necessary materials,

Collected and maintained clinical data and patient-reported outcomes following lumbar and cervical surgeries, including spinal fusions and discectomies. Independently managed clinical data for the CNSA Non-Operative and Cohort Databases, ensuring accuracy and consistency in documentation. Conducted personal interviews with patients to gather valuable data related to pain management and quality of life. Developed proficiency in navigating NextGen, Ortech, and RedCap databases to effectively complete daily tasks and streamline data management processes.

Transferred and analyzed physical patient records into digital formats for all Park Dental office locations in the Twin Cities metropolitan area. Collaborated effectively in a team environment to accurately organize patient data using Excel, ensuring consistency and accessibility across locations. This role enhanced my attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills, while also requiring advanced technical proficiency and computer literacy to manage and streamline data processes.
