I am a social bug with very honed-in listening skills. With a smile on my face and the ability to know whether to "Kiss, Bow or Shake Hands," I will give all the information visitor's need in order to maneuver around campus. I have completed UconnecT which is a leadership course through the University of Tennessee. This course has jump-started my ability to work independently on special projects for my department. I serve as a liaison between the Vice Provost and the campus, the community and International visitors. I schedule events, meetings and keep a calendar of appointments. I have served on committees such as the LGBTQ Commission, the Diversity and Inclusion Working Group, and I was the point person for the Ready for the World Grant. I have completed Safe Zone training and received a certificate from the University of Tennessee. I am currently part of the Provost Leadership Team, and I am working at the Center for Global Engagement for the University of Tennessee. I am an event planner for my department and have hosted such events as Violins of Hope through the Ready for the World Grant, Poultry in Rwanda with the Ambassador to Rwanda and Food Insecurities with Scholars at Risk. I have hosted the Japanese Consulate and many other dignitaries through our department. I have planned and hosted the Fullbright Award Reception every year including reserving an event space, creating invites, ordering catering, ordering a bartender and hiring a musician which is usually a violinist. I serve as my department's event coordinator, and I purchase products for the University of Tennessee. I find local merchants and craftsman that sell their items that are made in Tennessee and represent the state. An example is a gentleman in Tremont that makes wine stoppers out of trees that are indigenous to Tennessee. We give these out to our International visitors, and our staff takes them when they do site visits to other countries. I have taken many courses through our KATE system and have the skills of doing payroll, ledgers, money transfers, purchasing, procurement card reconciliation, receipting and the biggest one which is travel.
