Design Director, Group Property
CurrentWestpac is an ASX listed financial services business with a large property portfolio across Australia including ~800 retail branches, business banking centres and workplaces in each capital city. The Design + Innovation team sits within Group Property and is responsible for the design and delivery of all BAU retail and workplace property projects plus special projects, and owns and maintains the property design standards for the four retail brands and the corporate design guidelines. Responsibilities: Oversee design projects at a program management level, manage design teams, and develop and supervise design projects. Responsible for the development, direction and successful execution of design projects across Westpac Group’s Retail and Corporate property portfolios. Manage the financial spend and invoicing process from external design consultants, and drive a cost-efficient model across all facets of the design process. Responsible for upholding Westpac Group national design standards and best practice level of compliance with national construction code, and legislative acts pertaining to buildings and workplaces Autonomously manage ongoing engagement with various project design teams during tender and construction to achieve fully coordinated designs and excellent outcomes Responsible for managing risk by ensuring design documentation meets best-practice level of industry standard and upholds key business units’ requirements Responsible for collaborating with senior business partners to develop executable briefs from business strategies Manage collaborative, design-led processes that seamlessly integrate planning, design management and stakeholder engagement to deliver optimum outcomes in alignment with strategic targets Act as the lead liaison between external design and architectural consultants and internal stakeholders and partners.Motivate, lead and direct design managers across all stages of a project
