Board Certified in Civil Appellate Law, I represent clients before the Texas Supreme Court, the Fifth Circuit, and numerous other state and federal courts of appeals. My practice extends beyond traditional appeals and includes mandamus petitions, interlocutory appeals, and amicus briefing. I also have extensive experience in trial court, particularly related to summary judgement motions, the jury charge, post-judgement motions, and preservation of error issues. No matter the venue, I strategically frame every case with an eye towards how it would fare if it ever reaches the appellate level. I graduated magna cum laude from the Baylor University School of Law where I served as Editor in Chief of the Baylor Law Review. Prior to law school, I earned my B.S. in Economics, magna cum laude, from Texas A&M University. I served as a briefing attorney for the Supreme Court of Texas where my appellate career got its start. In my current capacity as an appellate specialist, I’m able to do what I love – research, writing, legal analysis, and strategy. With two sets of twins at home, a busy work schedule, and commitments to public education initiatives, I wish I had more time to indulge my passion for writing – something other than legal briefs.
