Duties spanned all phases of development from requirements analysis thru validation testing. NITES-Next was a Navy SOA solution for providing meteorological data and analysis for mission planning.

Worked as a member of a 2-3 person team on a transaction based system for cashless casino gaming. The system was required to be highly available and fault tolerant. Coded primarily in C++ using multi-threading, ACE, XML and TCP/IP.Performed rapid system design both individually and in a small team in response to changing customer requirements.Lead software engineer on an embedded customer interaction system deployed on ARM. Coded in C++, ACE. System interfaced with several peripherals: a slot machine, a card reader, a touchscreen, and a backend server using a mixture of serial, UDP, and TCP/IP communications.Learned and performed maintenance support for deployed system including investigating and resolving customer reported defects and redesigning user interface to accommodate a change in display hardware. Code was in C++ and Javascript

Worked on a three member team to create an emulation of a 24 bit processor in C++. Developed a status monitoring system using C++, DDS, and CORBA techonologies.The distributed system monitored the status of hardware on which mission critical systems were running.Supported Systems Engineering by reviewing new system requirements and providing sizing/complexity estimates.Generate formal design documents including conducting formal peer reviews.Implemented new system requirements in Ada and occasionally Jovial including conducting peer reviews.Provided direct support to customer acceptance testing including travel to the customer test facilities.Assumed the role of software lead when the lead was absent.
