Fascinated by cricket pitch performance, outfields, turf in general and how it is managed. My role is to support and progress cricket grounds turf management at all levels of the game in England and Wales, to provide technical support with respect to pitches and turf for the First Class venues and England teams and to direct research projects on future.

I looked forward to coming to work every day for a fantastic organisation with strong core values. I was fortunate enough to be Head Grounds Manager during a great period of redevelopment at the County Ground and worked hard to emulate that in my sphere of operations by re-constructing the square (in house), creating some of the best practice facilities on.

Lucky enough to be a part of some fantastic years of Sussex CCC success, including winning the County Championship in 2006 and 2007.

Out ground for Lancashire CCC. This ground taught me how to live on a shoestring as a groundsman where necessary and get by with very little materials, equipment and by doing things 'the old fashioned way'.

A magical Club where I formed many strong friendships with some lovely people and to which I owe a debt of gratitude. I enjoyed a steep learning curve, during which time I fell in love with grounds management and decided to become a professional.
