Developed a graphical configuration/installation application to facilitate the installation of Thomson Reuters' ONESource Indirect Tax product. Employed iterative development techniques to manage changing requirements and to deliver on time within budget. Utilized Java, Swing, JDBC and XML.

Managed teams of up to 15 members based in multiple geographical locations. Partnered with internal and external technology, product management and service delivery teams to achieve project goals. Led multiple concurrent projects while providing ongoing production support. Pioneered the adoption of agile project management using scrum in product development group.Drove several initiatives which culminated in a state-of-the-art payroll servicing platform (PSP) for Intuit's desktop (Quick Books Payroll) and on-line (Intuit On-line Payroll) customers. The service supports over 120K customers, processing 25K payroll submissions/hour and moving over $1 billion/day in paycheck direct deposits to banks.Developed and maintained project documentation and provided regular status updates to project stakeholders and senior (VP level) staff. Leveraged scrum/agile to implement a 3 month delivery cycle for ongoing product maintenance releases. Created release management documentation, scheduled releases and drove release process.Managed team supporting Intuit Payroll's internal CSR and document management applications. Drove several initiatives that increased CSR efficiency and improved application's usability. CSR application is used by more than 300 reps in multiple locations in the US and in the Philippines.

Conceptualized, designed and led development of robust enterprise software products and services for Intuit payroll customers. Partnered with Federal and State tax agencies to develop, test and deploy new XML-based electronic tax filing software. Partnered with a leading bank to implement a robust ACH solution for the processing of direct deposit paychecks for employees of Intuit Payroll’s customer base.Utilized Java, XML, XML frameworks, XSLT and Schema.

Enhansiv is a wholly owned subsidiary of Teletech that focuses on the development, deployment and management of remote-hosted eCRM technology solutions.Co-architected a high level conceptual model of enhansiv's hosted, CRM product with other senior members of the technical staff. The model formed the basis for over 12 months development for 100+ engineers.Developed enterprise CRM software in Java. Performed OOA/D employing UML and Rational Rose to model specific components. Analysis and design elements included use-case specification and the creation of sequence, class and state transition diagrams.

Intellisystems develops telephony and internet based automated product support solutions. Software used by over 75 high tech companies including Canon, Digital Equipment and Gateway. Intellisystems was acquired by Teletech in 1998.Re-architected Intellisystem's rule-based expert system software to base it on an OO, n-tiered design and to utilize a common data access layer. Lead the subsequent development of a COM driven ASP application to enable deployment of the technology over the internet. Created a core set of COM objects for execution in IIS on NT servers and employed XML and HTML for web presentation. Developed an integrated toolset for the creation, maintenance and deployment of rule-based expert systems. The toolset was developed using MFC and C++ for Windows 95/98/NT platforms.

Designed and developed programmable control software for Hamilton Co’s liquid handling robots. The robots were employed in a wide variety of analytical and clinical applications. The programmable control software enabled a diverse user base to rapidly adapt the robots to perform liquid assays. Created a multi-threaded execution engine that provided concurrent, synchronized control for the individual components of each robot as well as orchestrating the actions of multiple robots. Implementation was in C++ for an OS/2 platform. Based my Master's thesis on the design of the execution engine.Conceptualized an innovative approach for developing programmable control software that combined ease of programming with an ability to develop complex custom solutions for specific applications such as solid phase extraction. Partnered with product management and applications engineering to define requirements. Engaged at all levels of the development life cycle from product inception through application deployment.Participated in ISO9001 certification process. Developed an approach for performing Risk Analysis that was incorporated into the overall certification and which satisfied the relevant FDA regulations.

Member of the development team that ported several versions of AT&T’s UNIX (SVR2 and SVR3) to Cubix Corp’s Intel- based (80x86) microcomputers, aka cubes. Developed bootstrap and startup code and wrote several device drivers for serial, SCSI and network devices.Co-developed a network stack based on RFS that enabled the cubes to be used as file-servers for PC’s running DOS and NETBIOS.Originated, maintained and enhanced a test suite that was used to smoke test newly built kernels during the porting process. Debugged complex software and hardware related issues that were identified using the test suite. Software issues included the identification of a kernel component (the numeric coprocessor emulation component) that was not being correctly initialized during system boot. Hardware issues included the identification of a timing signal that was prematurely latching data on the SCSI bus and resulted in intermittent data corruption.Utilized C, UNIX shell script (Korn and Borne) and assembler for development. Utilized a logic analyzer for debugging hardware.
