As an experienced cultural leader, choral director, singing leader and teacher, I am passionate about inspiring people of all ages to sing, supporting teachers and enabling professional musicians to reach diverse communities. As Director of Education for the VOCES8 Foundation I develop, manage, help deliver, evaluate and assist in the fundraising for multiple projects in the UK, US and France.The Foundation has three strands: performance featuring vocal ensembles VOCES8 and Apollo5; education led by our singing team and including the innovative VOCES8 Method written by Paul Smith our CEO and co-founder of VOCES8, and community from the VOCES8 Centre in the City of London, our UK home and centre for vocal excellence and collaboration.Excellence and inclusivity are hallmarks of the Foundation's work in the UK and around the world.One of the areas I am especially interested in is the impact of singing on the well-being and executive function of children. In 2019 I commissioned Professor Graham Welch and a team of researchers at UCL to research the impact of Sing Every Day, one of the Foundation's singing projects in London primary schools.
