Previously enrolled in JJC/USF cohort, student government experience as a member on the JJC Nursing Program Curriculum Committee with fellow professors and Dean of Nursing. Purpose was to analyze each detail of past scores and efforts with much input on how to move forward. We would evaluate effectiveness of ideals and plans and give an overall presentation on what is set forth currently. Meeting x1 month. Often helped other students with questions which all started my confidence in this field. As a nurse, I started working in Rehab and LTC. Quickly promoted to Nursing Supervisor. I have recently worked as the Director of Nursing over another Director and 3 buildings with around 150 residents. Conducting audits, meetings, resolve employee disputes, change laundry schedule, how to communicate, set expectations which were never set before, listened to my staff, reviews, hiring, firing, meetings with other Dept Heads daily, launched their lab work and personal schedules from paper to an online resource, changed the culture and attitude and set standards and the list goes on. On call 24/7. I'm a Special Needs and Disabilities Nurse and I could not be happier. I've always said I want to help people who really need it. Everyone needs help but babies, kids, and special needs, disabled adults and children require a true advocate who loves them as they are and treats them with the kindness and dignity they deserve. Encourage high functioning adults to join me in activities, although I'm often told that I'm not really supposed to do that because I'm Nursing. I have a special connection with everyone that I care for there. Entrepreneural and creative by nature coupled with my personal and working experience has given this passion, dedication and hopefulness that I can and will make a change. My life is devoted to helping, educating, improving, inspire others.
