◙ Took a key strategic role in the IAIS, the standard-setting body for the insurance supervisors, managing the Secretariats of the Financial Conglomerates Subcommittee, the Reinsurance Subcommittee, and the Implementation Committee.◙ Led work on the development of the Multilateral Memorandum of Understanding (MMOU) for the industry, securing the first three signatories to the key supervisory, cooperation, and information exchange, to which more than 95% of insurers are now signatories.◙ Built an online self-assessment methodology for the observance of Insurance Core Principles, allowing for the self-reporting and resolution of exceptions.◙ Initiated groundbreaking work on financial inclusion, specifically on microinsurance – the first time a global standard-setting body considered this before the founding of the G20.◙ Conceived and established the Access to Insurance Initiative, enabling inclusion within the insurance industry and defining proportionate regulations, bringing together multinational insurers and multilateral organizations in collaboration.◙ Served as IAIS representative to the Joint Forum Working Group on Risk Assessment and Capital, working closely with BCBS, IOSCO, and IAIS.◙ Completed IAIS’ first application paper on Islamic Insurance (Takaful) and Microinsurance.

◙ Invited to join the newly formed insurance regulator, having participated in establishing operations while previously employed at the Ministry of Finance.◙ Set up India’s insurance ombudsman.◙ Oversaw the licensing of insurers and insurance inermediaries, carrying out deep dive research and off-site and on-site inspections.◙ Developed an inspection manual, driving best practice for inspectors.◙ Drafted the world’s first regulations on microinsurance.◙ Conceived regulatory waiver for India’s first pilot for parametric weather insurance.
