Worked with Python and Javascript/Typescript mostly working on a variety of backend and frontend services. Frontend was done in Vue2, though newer services gave experience with Vue3. Since it's a smaller company, very normal to wear many hats, and worked with a surprising amount of infrastructure code as well (Kubernetes and Docker). Worked with client projects and led interactions for monthly reporting, updates, and managing customer expectations. Data was stored in postgres, so I have some exposure to SQL as well. I did work some with Azure, but the bulk of work was done via AWS.Worked largely greenfield work here for core product but did manage some brownfield projects for existing work. Was responsible for creating and implementing end to end testing suites for continuous integration which resulted in dozens of bugs large and small being caught before impacting clients. Was a big driver for documentation and addressing security concerns, and helped with automation around scanning and fixing these concerns as well.

Force multiplier is the main thing I try to remember for this role. As I have moved into more leadership and mentor positions, I have to remember my time away from coding allows me to multiply my impact through other engineers. My other big focus point is on keeping open and honest dialogue with all my employees and pushing for ensuring positive developer experiences. Happy developers means better code and more flexible communication. I led the team in designing and building internal tooling to manage client accounts, projects, and users. This was greenfield development and allowed me to work with new a Vue3/Vite/Typescript/Pinia stack that was also exciting.While my time as an manager has so far been shorter, I do take pride in having seen one of my developers promoted from junior to mid level, and another having successfully turned around during a 30/60 day review step after I took over management of them.

I work on the Genesys Cloud Realtime team- which covers our chat platform (XMPP, Websocket[Socket.io]), call control, roster management, and other types of messages. I also work with our integrations team, handling Kafka/SNS bridges for NodeJS, app support for our company's platform, and various other items. I'm used to working both solo to help with test coverage or bug fixing, as well as working in pairs or larger groups to build new features or retrofit old ones.My day to day work involves writing Javascript/Typescript (NodeJS) and working with Amazon Web Services (AWS). I most commonly utilize DynamoDB, Lambda, SNS, and Cloudwatch. I work with a service that spans multiple geographic regions around the world, and we ship code to production on a regular basis. I have written test automation to cover browser based scenarios with Selenium and Puppeteer, NodeJS back end tests utilizing Websocket and XMPP clients. I have written lambdas that trigger based on SNS events from Kafka, and from there check or interact with other AWS tools. I am lucky in that I get to be part of a team that likes to push the bleeding edges of technology and is always working to improve and harden our services.

Finished month long training course as a top performer. Worked on SQL and Java primarily, culminating in work on a final project which handled a Java app acting as a financial tool and talking across a simulated network.

Worked with Active Directory account creation and management. Heavy focus on automation and PowerShell Scripting. Also worked with Zoho Creator to try and connect silo-ed departments.
