I helped plan and outreach for the Brownsfield Opportunity Area community planning initiative, supervised an urban farm stand, supported the creation and management of a community garden, and created outreach and grant materials.

As an Anti-Hunger and Opportunity Americorps VISTA, I worked with the nonprofit CHLDC on issues relating to food justice, including identifying barriers to and increasing participation in the food stamp program. I also worked to increase access to nutritious food options by supporting a local farmers' market and new community gardens. My responsibilities also included community outreach, grant writing, internet research, event coordination, and fundraising.

I interned with the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs developing a procedures handbook and users guide for the Financial Tracking Service database tracking humanitarian aid. My work was to clarify and streamline data tracking decisions while cleaning and organizing the database.

I analyzed and classified descriptions of international aid projects, arbitrating conflicting classifications. Additionally, I designed global and regional cartographic maps depicting aid flows over the past three decades.

My work as a Research Assistant at the Schroeder Center involved working closely with William and Mary Economics professors to construct a cross-sectional database in STATA for a research project about health outcomes during economic recessions. I conducted literature reviews, integrated health and demographic data, and generated initial regression outcomes.
