I enjoy generating large bodies of experimental data and subsequently using/developing bioinformatic algorithms to discover patterns in these data. Originally educated as a molecular biologist, I combined animal models, molecular biology techniques and microscopy with the application/development of computational algorithms during my PhD to analyse big (single-cell RNA) sequencing datasets and combine this with microscopy datasets. I am a goal-oriented and social person that likes to collaborate in teams to tackle complex problems. Outside academia, I worked for +5 years in sales (telesales, t-mobile shop advisor) next to completing my educational track, which gave me considerable experience with working in the commercial industry.I am always reachable by email - basmolenaar822@Hotmail.com

Project: Role of RYBP in PcG protein targeting during myogenic differentiation.Used biochemical and biomolecular approaches to determine the roles of RYBP and its interaction partner YY1 in targeting PcG protein to DNA sequence during myogenic differentiation
Project: Inhibition of ATPsynthase by the polyphenol resveratrol.Used ATP synthesis and hydrolysis assays on isolated human mitochondria to determine effect of resveratrol on human ATPsynthase. Also started with preperation of a resveratrol affinity column for pull-down assay
