About Megan Bauer
In August 2017, Meg chose to climb the next step of her professional growth when she accepted MSU College of Law's generous admissions scholarship. Feeling that her previous organization was ready and able to walk on its own, and eager to expand her own skills, Meg was excited. So far, she has thoroughly enjoyed applying the legal-economic-political doctrines that she learned in the advocacy field, and appreciated the refreshing rigor of standards and expectations that the philanthropic world under-appreciates. Meg looks forward to continuing to learn financial and regulatory law, in doctrine and in practice.Meg graduated from Kalamazoo College in 2012 with a double major in political science and German. She immediately took that degree to the Kalamazoo Gay Lesbian Resource Center (KGLRC), to conduct non-partisan civic engagement during a pivotal election year. Using her critical understanding of power structures and her commitment to success, Meg forged a branch of the KGLRC that would create both tangible change and deeper systemic change. She worked with volunteers to find their strengths and empower them to lead their fellow community, all through the goal of enhancing legal protections for gay and transgender people in Michigan. In 2016, KGLRC changed its name to OutFront Kalamazoo.
