In this position, I routinely supervise the day-to-day opening. Ensuring that presentation standards are maintained while delivering excellent visitor experiences at Kedleston Hall. A large part of this role is the routine cleaning and condition checking of Kedleston's vast collection and helping preserve the hall itself.Key responsibilities:Manage collections assistants day-to-day workload and make sure we’re delivering a thorough routine of preventative conservation to a high standard. Manage conservation and room guide volunteers, overseeing volunteer rotas and room allocations and welcoming new volunteers through our induction programme.Environmental control and monitoring are also an essential part of this role to maintain the condition of our eclectic collection.

Working as part of the Legacy Makers project, I aided in project research to uncover hidden links between Darley Abbey Mills and child labour in the slave plantations of the deep south of America and in the mill itself.Key responsibilities:Aiding in the transcription of burial slabs of St. Matthews Church to uncover the lives of mill workers.Aiding in the creation of educational resources exploring the history of the mill for KS2 students at Walter Evans Primary School.Assisting Dr. Cath Feely as part of Being Human Festival in a short podcast exploring the cotton trade in the late nineteenth century and its links to Darley Abbey Mills.

In this role, I worked as part of the Library and Knowledge service at Kings Mill Hospital which served hospital staff and students.Key responsibilities:Work as the face of the library and knowledge service on the front desk which entailed: answering phone calls, managing library loans and memberships and taking study room bookings.Dealing with petty cash for library fines.General administration duties including managing and filing library membership requests.Aiding in the distribution of health and wellbeing material to GPs and health centres across Nottinghamshire.
