Trial Attorney with the Intellectual Property Section of the Department of Justice's Civil Division. Responsible for litigating patent, trademark, and copyright matters involving the United States as a party. Responsibilities included: devising litigation strategy, drafting pleadings, managing discovery (both traditional and electronic discovery), providing oral argument, defending and taking depositions, negotiating settlement positions, representing the United States at trial and on appeal, and advising senior management on the status of and risk attendant to litigations. Additional responsibilities include mentoring attorneys hired through the Attorney General's Honors Program and advising federal agencies on IP matters outside of, or in anticipation of, formal litigation.Received Special Commendation for Outstanding Service in the Civil Division of DOJ in December 2015.

Responsibilities included preparing and presenting regular classroom lectures to junior members of the Federal Circuit Bar Journal on the scholarly writing process, icnluding topic selection, research, drafting, and editing of a scholarly article. Also reviewed student drafts throughout the process and provided written and oral feedback, responded to student questions, and ultimately graded and ranked final writing products.
