    As a team member of the Office of Public Health and Safety I work to address the root causes of crime and reduce violence in Indianapolis neighborhoods effecting both our youth and our families. The Violence Reduction team acts as the coordinating agency for Mayor Joe Hogsett’s violent crime reduction strategy and comprehensive criminal justice reform efforts. Our primary goal is to daily work to transform the lives of residents, families, neighborhoods, and the entire Indianapolis community.• Developing and coordinating VRT gun strategy efforts that reduced gun violence by 32% in year 2022 & 2023, impacting our young people and overall community. • As a member of the VRT team, I oversee community-based responses to connect with families and provide resources reducing inadequacies leading to criminogenic behaviors.• Supervise a team of 18 Life coaches who work with 100 -150, 16–35-year-olds suffering from chronic disenfranchisement deriving from low wages, a lack of employment, healthy foods, education, and inadequate housing. • Created a holistic best practice cognitive behavior approach model to assist the Life Coaches in providing intense, short- and long-term guidance to the 16–35-year-olds with high risk factors, who are deemed as opportunity youth/ young adults.• Build partnerships with partnering organizations to best coordinate and connect services to our young people/ most vulnerable populations.• Convene, develop, and facilitate trainings to equip both our community partners and team members to efficiently and effectively execute the violence reduction team strategy. • Partner with community leaders, city officials and IMPD to identify the key issues the Indianapolis community readily face to effectively strategize and implement timely solutions with the hopes of mitigating and reducing violence.
