Hello! My name is Bethany Kelly, and my portfolio represents my experiences and academic accomplishments as a college student alongside a part-time collegiate Track and Field athlete. I received my associate’s as well as part of my bachelor’s in biomedical sciences at Sam Houston State University before I transferred to Lamar University to continue my education in University Studies with a concentration in Public Health Administration.During my time at Sam Houston, I contributed back to the athletic student body through a program called SAAC (Student-Athlete Advisory Committee), as well as provided my compassion and leadership abilities to my teammates and coaches. Continuing to pursue track at Lamar University, I plan to engage with the student body and contribute as a member of the Lamar community. I plan to graduate with my Master of Public Health Administration by 2026 before becoming an officer in the United States Air Force. My family’s military background has made me culturally advantageous and left me with resiliency. As a kinesthetic learner, I excel through activities that involve practical experience and direct engagement. Hands-on labs, practice sessions, and real-world applications let me grasp complex concepts and retain information more effectively. With this, I plan to further my career goals by taking the necessary steps in the hands-on clinical training a PA receives within the military setting to become a physician’s assistant. I am committed to continuous learning and encourage critical thinking. I strive to prepare for my future professional life!
