The scope of this position involves observing and evaluating educator instruction, the creation and administrtion of rigorous and standards-aligned benchmark assessments, evaluation and analysis of both individual classroom and school-wide data metrics, and overseeing the school's response to intervention program. Additional responsibilities include the creation and facilitation of professional development opportunities designed to target specific school, subject or grade level needs and conferencing with teachers around the instructional adjustments necessary for the academic success of all students.

In this role, I worked with elementary school teachers to ensure that all K-5 instruction was rigorous, standards-aligned, engaging and relevant for the students served at the Memphis School of Excellence. Through classroom observation and feedback conversations with my staff, I helped our educators grow in their capacities for facilitating student achievement across all content areas. I also helped develop the curriculum and provide whatever resources were necessary for sustained student success in our elementary school classrooms.

As a teaching assistant for the Women and Gender Studies department at Boston College, my responsibilities included leading a discussion section of 13 students enrolled in the Intro to Feminisms course once a week for an hour and 15 minutes. Students were asked to write weekly responses to the assigned reading, which I read before discussion section to gauge where the conversation might flow on that day. I also planned in-class activities and writing exercises to get the students to engage with the course material in several different ways.

Other times, I assisted with voting on the House floor. Other duties included collecting written statements from those Congressmen speaking on the House floor, delivering notes to the Speaker of the House, answering phones on the floor and running other duties as assigned.
