Promoted to lead eight teachers and specialists in all aspects of student instruction and development. Oversee Special Education and English Language Learning programming for over 230 students yearly. Directly collaborate with school administrators and network team to handle strategic planning and timely problem resolution. Serve on school’s senior leadership team, as well as Excel’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Leadership team. Prepare and update all services and documentation per State and Federal requirements.  Instituted and administered full-scale compliance management structure for all schools in network, achieving over 95% compliance with State and Federal regulations school-wide.  Fully restructured and streamlined processes for intervention programming, as well as regular cycles of data analysis and collection, resulting in consistent academic data to compare for first time in network history. Created and deployed tools to support staff management professional development, including new teacher scope & sequence and comprehensive annual calendar; later adopted as best practice network-wide for over 40 staff members. Guided and managed three cross-functional teams in providing intensive support for 75 diverse learners.

Coordinated caseloads of 12-15 students with diverse range of disabilities with direct management of one special education teacher. Also co-taught 7th grade Math and English and taught daily academic interventions.  Recognized as first teacher in this network’s history to directly oversee another teacher; also coached four general education teachers to support diverse learners in classroom.  Succeeded in improving individual student reading levels by average of two years in only one year.  Expanded student growth percentiles on state testing for personal caseload more than any charter school in MA state between 2014-2015. Developed self-advocacy scope & sequence and curriculum for Grades 5-8; now implemented by learning specialists network-wide.

Boston, Ma

Managed classroom instruction, as well as caseloads of 10-15 students, at Wright Science and Technology Academy in Chelsea, MA.  Taught all content areas to substantially separate classroom of fourteen 7th & 8th graders with moderate to severe disabilities. Formed and supervised argument writing unit that resulted in ten students presenting concise and detailed arguments to Superintendent.  Advocated for eight 7th graders to attend classes in 8th grade general education setting Specially chosen to act as “Keys to Literacy” coach at schools throughout district.

• Established a ReadyU brand presence on campus, through the creative planning and execution of ten events, as well as the implementation of guerrilla marketing tactics and new media initiatives

• Responsible for planning and execution of events, including the School of Communication's 25th Anniversary, designing collateral materials, writing stories for publication on the SoC website, pitching to media, and maintaining social media pages.

• Provided key support for all aspects of event management, particularly the planning, execution, and debriefing of over 20 events and handling the logistics for meetings, dinners, signature events, and VIP travel. Developed a comprehensive list of new venues, caterers, florists, and stationers in the Boston area and arranged six venue tours attended by entire events team

Assumed administrative responsibilities including: greeting, guiding and assisting families in units and clinics, coordination of staff retreats and professional functions for physicians and nursing staff, performed administrative activities in busy pediatric intensive care unit. Fostered an ability to work well with diverse, and sometimes demanding, audiences.
