I am an experienced classroom teacher, school leader & administrator who has worked in charter, district, and independent school settings. Ensuring access, equity, and justice for communities of color and low-income students is the throughline of my twenty+ years in education, and putting the students and families I serve as the center of my work has brought me enduring relationships and great joy (with some heartache, as well). Colleagues and those I have supervised - both faculty and staff - describe me as accessible, understanding, and compassionate; the sort of leader that is willing to "get her hands dirty" and "do the things she is asking us to do"; an "educator's educator" who unfailingly supports teachers and seeks out new, science-based approaches to better serving students. I have been told that I strike a balance between taking a high-level, strategic view of the work - executing long-range planning processes to better define intended outcomes and our strategy to achieve these - while also taking care of operations, logistics, and implementation details in a way that brings confidence to those who work with me.
