What really brings me the most joy is connecting with people and helping them find their joy!In 2005, I started my Life Coaching business. I met with clients in person and on the phone. I helped them evaluate their lives and to see what areas needed improvement. We then set up some goals to move them into the life they want. I also held tele-classes, in person classes and workshops. As owning my own business, this involved keeping track of financial paperwork. I also typed up client notes after each session. I did various computer related activities like research and developing new assignments as well as marketing and advertising. In 2015, I became interested in teaching about natural health and supporting the body as a whole. I added essential oils into my business. As I learned about essential oils and better ways to support the body more naturally, I educated others on these ways. I teach others through workshops, in person and online classes and through my coaching sessions. I also became AromaTouch Certified in 2015 because I feel this technique can support homeostasis in the whole body. As my business has evolved, I have started helping others through virtual assistance and website design using GoDaddy and WordPress.

I am a Care Manager and Caregiver/LNA for a private homecare client through the Choices for Independence Program. This client had dementia and required 24 hour care. My Care Manager role and responsibilities included recruiting for caregivers, interviewing potential caregivers through phone and in person interviews, recommending for hire to family and helping onboard and train new caregivers. I also helped train caregivers as care needs changed including setting up a dysphasia diet program. I maintained scheduling for her care team including caregivers, family coverage, doctor appointments and nurse visits. I was responsible for helping her have the best quality of life and planning engaging and enriching brain stimulating activities for her care team and I to do with her. In my Caregiver/LNA role, I was responsible for helping with activities of daily living like supervision and assistance with companionship, socialization, memory care and mental stimulation, showering, dressing, oral health care, hair care, toileting, preparing dysphasia appropriate meals and drinks and light house cleaning.

I was a night shift LNA. In my LNA role, I admitted patients to the unit by performing admission tasks such as placing telemetry leads on the patient and connecting patients to the telemetry box both physically and in our Cerner charting system. I then obtained height, weight and vital signs for the patient and helped get them settled in. Other tasks that I performed as ordered included obtaining blood glucose readings, collecting urine samples, performing EKG’s as ordered or in emergency situations. At times, I also performed surgical preps. Throughout the night, I was responsible for safety rounds and charting findings and care administered. I also provided basic ADL’s like toileting, incontinence care, oral care and bedtime care. Additional tasks that I took on included answering phones and transferred to appropriate care team members as well as some basic office duties and data entry. I also created an LNA orientation training program for my unit. I was also a Delirium champion, an Aromatherapy Ambassador and part of the Unit Practice Council for my unit.

I was a LNA/MNA. In my LNA role, I provided assistance to short term and long term residents with ADLs like showering, dressing, oral health care, toileting and feeding. I then was asked if I would like to further my education by completing a Medication Nursing Assistant Program. I completed this program in 2017. In my MNA role, I provide assistance to the nurse by passing daily scheduled medications, obtaining vital signs, obtaining blood glucose readings and giving PRN medications as directed by my supervising nurse.

I was a LNA homecare aide. I helped with activities of daily living like showering, dressing, oral health care, preparing meals, light cleaning, transportation to appointments and shopping. Most recently, I had the privilege of working with clients with traumatic brain injury and therefor helping them with their skills that require short term memory like laundry, bills, daily goal planning, redirection, medication and meal reminders and so on. I also recently worked with a client with a brain injury assisting him in his daily skills and getting out into the community to volunteer.
