This, I believe, is an essential step to unlocking truly sustainable solutions to the climate and plastics crises. We cannot reduce our reliance on petrochemical products without safer and, ultimately, truly sustainable chemicals that are manufactured according to the principles of green chemistry. HBN has played a prominent role in developing health-based green building standards including the Green Guide for Health Care; LEED for Health Care; LEED v.4; Enterprise Green Community Guidelines; Living Building Challenge Red List; WELL Building Standard materials credits; Perkins + Will Precautionary List; Green Screen for Safer Chemicals; Kaiser Permanente anti-microbials ban list.
