This innovative, collaborative approach to funding science-based, data-driven solutions aims to systematically eliminate hazardous chemicals and replace them with verified safer alternatives. This, I believe, is an essential step to unlocking truly sustainable solutions to the climate and plastics crises. We cannot reduce our reliance on petrochemical products without safer and, ultimately, truly sustainable chemicals that are manufactured according to the principles of green chemistry. The fund will strategically deploy capital to scale solutions to meet the urgency of these challenges.In this capacity, I also serve as a liaison with active stakeholders in government, finance, philanthropy, and NGOs to promote the alignment of sector initiatives. HBN has played a prominent role in developing health-based green building standards including the Green Guide for Health Care; LEED for Health Care; LEED v.4; Enterprise Green Community Guidelines; Living Building Challenge Red List; WELL Building Standard materials credits; Perkins + Will Precautionary List; Green Screen for Safer Chemicals; Kaiser Permanente anti-microbials ban list.
