  Across three decades, I have been actively involved in leveraged buy-outs, working closely with PE investors, banks and high net worth individuals. For those management teams considering PE investment, I have walked the journey in your shoes, many times before. 𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐔𝐊 𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐫I joined E.J. Stiell as an apprentice electrical engineer in 1976. Along with fellow apprentices Greig Brown and Andy Galloway, we rose through the ranks, leading a management buy out in 1995. Helping transform Stiell, culminating in its sale to Alfred McAlpine in 2002.𝐌𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐛𝐮𝐲 𝐢𝐧𝐬, 𝐬𝐮𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐞𝐱𝐢𝐭𝐬Between 2002-2017, I led the buy-in team at ASCO, an oil and gas logistics business. We delivered strong growth, building an international group of companies through a series of acquisitions, before a successful exit in 2011.Along with my ex colleagues we also teamed up with the fourth future Aliter founder, Andrew Busby, to form the buy-in team at Europa Support Services. In 2013, the business was sold to Bilfinger Berger. Other PE-backed deals in facilities management, logistics and laboratory services followed.𝐋𝐚𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐀𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐂𝐚𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 In 2017, the four of us launched Aliter Capital, to create a different kind of PE firm. Our first fund, Aliter Capital I, raised £92m. Over the next five years, we invested in four platform businesses, utilities, infrastructure, networking and technical services, corporate training and digital learning. Working closely with management, adding value and generating growth, while delivering upper quartile returns for our investors. 𝐀𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐂𝐚𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐈𝐈Launched in December 2022, our £134m Aliter Capital II fund has already created 4 platform businesses in;• IT Networking• Healthcare Data Analytics• Technical Services• IT Recruitment and ResourcingWe actively seek to make further investments in these areas.
