CurrentAcross three decades, I have been actively involved in leveraged buy-outs, working closely with private equity investors, banks and high net worth individuals. For those management teams considering private equity investment, I have walked the journey in your shoes, many times before. 𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐔𝐊 𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐫I joined E.J. Stiell as an apprentice electrical engineer in 1987. Along with fellow apprentices and future Aliter founders, Billy Allan and Andy Galloway. I rose through the ranks in various senior Operational, Commercial and executive roles helping transform Stiell, culminating in its sale to Alfred McAlpine in 2002.𝐌𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐛𝐮𝐲 𝐢𝐧𝐬, 𝐬𝐮𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐞𝐱𝐢𝐭𝐬Between 2002-2006, I remained as Executive Director and Divisional Managing Director within Alfred McAlpine, delivering strong growth before leaving to become Managing Director of EMCOR UK.In 2007 along with my ex Stiell colleagues, we teamed up with the fourth future Aliter founder, Andrew Busby, to form the buy-in team at Europa Support Services. I was CEO until the successful exit in 2013 when the business was sold to Bilfinger Berger. I then continued to invest and build private businesses.𝐋𝐚𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐀𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐂𝐚𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥In 2017, the four of us launched Aliter Capital. Our first fund raised £92m, invested in four platform businesses, delivering utilities, infrastructure, networking and technical services, corporate training and digital learning. We added value, generated growth and delivered upper quartile returns for investors. 𝐀𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐂𝐚𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐈𝐈Launched in December 2022 , our £134m Aliter Capital II fund has already created four platform businesses in;• IT Networking• Healthcare Data Analytics• Technical Services• IT Recruitment and ResourcingWe actively seek to make further investments in these and other areas of support services.
