At this plant, I operate a variety of injection molding machines. Our plant contains injection molding machines that were made by Engle, Mitsubishi, Ube, and Nissei. The Flex-N-Gate plant in Ada, Oklahoma plant primarily supplies plastic automobile components to General Motors and Toyota. Some of the components that we produce include long-wheel and short-wheel base quarter panels, Nissan Titan bumpers, air dams, step pads, and many others. The Ada, OK Flex N Gate plant was also awarded a new contract for components to support GM's new T1 Program. The T1 program will feature components that have been designed for GM vehicles for the 2021 model year and beyond. The T1 program commenced production at the Ada, OK plant in February 2020. I work with and for some amazing people at Flex N Gate in Ada, OK, and I am a proud to say that I am a Flex N Gate employee.

I had my introduction to plastics manufacturing at this plant. Dart Container Corporation produces single-use, plastic containers for mass consumption. Dart products are used around the world in hospitals, the U.S. military, as well as individual consumers.I left Dart Container Corporation because I received an outstanding offer of employment at Flex N Gate that I could not refuse.

People's Electric Cooperative is a small company that supplies the electrical distribution system for rural southeastern Oklahoma. The Two-way automated communication system (TWACS) network server is an electronic complex that monitors and allows for the diagnosis and operation of electrical distribution system components, such as electrical usage meters on homes. The system was indispensable in the identification and restoration of outages, the assessment of system functionality, the rerouting of electrical current during natural disasters such as tornadoes, and the appraisal of substation function. I worked part time in this position while I was completing some additional coursework in physics at East Central University.

Robert S. Kerr Environmental Research Center

The Robert S. Kerr Environmental Research Center (RSKERL) is one of the EPA's national research laboratories. This research facility specializes in research relating to the detection and remediation of groundwater pollution and in the restoration of compromised freshwater ecosystems within the U.S. My employment at RSKERL was mediated through East Central University. It was facilitated via a grant known as the Environmental Research Apprenticeship Program (ERAP).
