Current product is "Everybody Needs A Hippo:, a shared-decision making guide which engages the patient, helps the provider see and hear the patient in minutes, saving emotional and economic time and helps develop a wonderful collaboration between the provider and patient. Our work is designed for the majority of people who have difficulty reading medical papers and data sheets. We use the "Disney" style of non-intimidation, anthropomorphic characters to convey challenging subjects. This booklet encourages patients to realize what is truly important in their lives, easily share this info with the providers, enabling the provider to prescribe treatment that respects the patient. This form of collaboration has been proven to reduce stress, excess costs, unnecessary pain and suffering while improving communication and a mutuality of respect.
