After two decades of military and law enforcement experience, I aim to use what I have learned to improve others. My experiences in the military provide an understanding of what leadership is and is not. As a law enforcement officer, I have learned firsthand how to use emotional intelligence and effective communication to resolve conflict and establish peace.I have been a hostage and crisis negotiator since 2012. This experience coupled with crisis intervention training and real-world application has afforded me insight that is different from other communication specialists. My focus has been on suicide prevention and intervention, but using emotional intelligence and negotiation skills can allow for deeper conversations with more understanding. I have trained peace officers, military service members, parents, churches, and corporate employees in these crucial conversation tactics. Additionally, I have had three articles peer-reviewed and published in a nationally circulated law enforcement magazine.
Listed skills include Crisis Communications, Public Speaking, Leadership, Crisis Intervention, and 37 others.
