Responsibilities include obtaining entitlements, working with not-for-profit advocacy organizations focused on housing for the mentally ill, seeking rental assistance contract for 30% of the units from the local public housing authority, helping develop a plan to provide supportive services, overseeing preparation of low income housing tax credit application, and participating in design development with goal of LEED certification (sustainable features are expected to include vegetative roof, sun shades, geothermal heating/cooling, and rain gardens, among other features). Participated in the planning process for the historic preservation plan element update for Tacoma, Washington, including public meetings, working with City staff, and not-for-profit interest groups.
