Being a small company I do a little of everything. My main role is to be the primary contact for existing ParaPlan clients as well as implementation and training of new clients. I am also the main tester of the product, as well as developing the majority of new reports, manifests and invoices our clients need. In addition, I have developed and support a number of import routines from various Medicaid brokers opening up a new area of clientele to market to. These new types of clients are quickly becoming our main source of business.

Cale Technology, Inc. was an Engineering / Software consulting business. As owner of the business, I performed projects for local municipalities primarily having to do with asset management of their streets, storm and sanitary sewer infrastructure systems. I assisted in collecting, moving and utilizing data on these systems into software programs to make maintaining, managing and analyzing the systems more efficient and cost effective. I performed various projects from field inventories of storm sewer systems to street capital improvement recommendations for city engineers to present to their city council.

Implementation Engineer-Designed and oversaw development of the new Street Master program, included designing all the user interface, data entry modules, functionality, designing the database structure and making necessary changes to it throughout the development phase-Learned Visual Basic and coded the complex pavement modeling program-Implemented numerous clients, which involved conversion from other systems, developing and implementing their specific plans -Performed on-site training customizing software to each department’s needsTesting Manager-Developed a “bug/error” reporting and tracking program -Developed a testing program and assigned appropriate staff to test modules and functionality-Prioritized issues to address, assigned and explained problems to programmers and ensured these were fixed and retested prior to release-Greatly reduced the amount of client issues reported as well as the manpower needed to address these issuesDatabase Manager-Monitored development databases during coding to ensure they maintained these standards-Developed a conversion program that made all the database changes to convert a client’s previous version database into the same format as the new version’s database without affecting existing data-Designed and developed a program to read the differences between the previous version’s database and the new version’s database and actually write the conversion program to a text file, greatly reducing coding timeProduct Release Manager-Coordinated completion of coding, testing, database conversion programs, clean databases and all aspects that went into a new release of the software-Developed release notes detailing enhancements, new programs and bug fixes contained in each release of software-Produced, tested and archived final installation CD for each release
