This role has afforded me opportunities to work on wildfire management plans, wildfire modelling initiatives and provincial scale data analytics. To date I have been able to generate a provincial scale interpolated weather forecast product to enhance decision support. I am working on ways to validate that weather using actual weather to assess the trend in the forecast.Advances in probabilistic modelling are also being made using the Prometheus modelling software. Currently I am working to publish the work from my thesis while applying the technique to the operational setting.I now sit on the Fire Behaviour Service Center as a Fire Modelling Technologist in an effort to support provincial modelling efforts when the Forest Areas are exceeded.

This includes a role within the Fire Behaviour Service Center which, when activated, supports the areas within Alberta when fire modelling needs exceed area capacity. A role within wildfire management planning via Burn-P3 for the landuse framework plans. General support of model development and support of other programs.Additionally I have experience in the field and have opportunities to go out to wildfire incidents and work in multiple roles. Most recently I have acted as a Manup Supervisor, and Helicopter Coordinator. I have experience with the Incident Management Team as a Resource Unit Leader.

FVMP is a program designed for the monitoring of plant life before and after Prescribed Fire. As a crew leader I had a crew in the field identifying plants and measuring trees to quantify important parameters influenced by fire.

In helitack I fought wildfire around Alberta while being based in Whitecourt (2007) and Slave Lake (2008-2010).
