Earned Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Maine in Biochemistry. Minor concentrations completed include Neuroscience and Chemistry. Graduated Summa Cum Laude earning membership in Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Kappa Phi. Played 3 years Division I Baseball for Black Bears, earning a spot on the 2007 ESPN the Magazine Academic All-American Baseball All-District First Team. Completed National Science Foundation (NSF) funded Research Experience Undergraduate (REU) position researching methods of detection of peroxide based explosives. Hired by the Laboratory of Surface Science and Technology post completion.
