● Responsible for delivering U1900 -> L1900 Carrier refarming projects to a major multi-vendor network operator in the Americas region which involved the evaluation of existing network performance, determination of likely issues/bottlenecks post refarming, execution phase, troubleshooting and issue mitigation/resolution. Providing software technical support to mobile operators using Ericsson network equipment. The principle task involved fixing software faults on customer networks. This process comprised of recreating faults on our test network, writing assembly language patches, testing of patches and the release of such patches to our customers with corresponding load scripts to ensure minimum disruption to customer mobile traffic.The majority of my time in this department was spent as the lead person responsible in Dublin for our customers’ GPRS problems i.e. investigating software queries and performing the aforementioned tasks. Other responsibilities included the review and inspection of new software and design documentation being introduced. Liasing with customers to design and implement test cases for newly introduced GSM functionality with an emphasis on network performance under high load conditions.Principle areas included traffic load sharing, inter GSM node handover and mobile equipment compatibility. All tests were carried out with customer representatives on site, focusing on fault analysis, writing and testing patch solutions.
