On-site Consultant providing technical leadership and project management on large-scale infrastructure projects for Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District (GCCCD). Responsibilities include interfacing with various stakeholders to define needs, procuring hardware and software, configuring, installing, and operationalizing infrastructure projects.• Led project to procure and implement Mitel Connect Voice over IP Phone system for GCCCD. This implementation supported nearly 2000 users across the District. The VoIP phone system replaced a dated Tadiran digital and analog system. • Managed the upgrade of the wireless network from HPE MSM to Aruba Wireless across GCCCD. This project included deploying 650 wireless access points, the Aruba Mobility Conductor, and 4 Aruba wireless controllers. • Managed the internet circuit upgrades and point-to-point circuit upgrades for GCCCD to 10Gbps. The process required working closely with the Corporation for Education Network Initiatives in California (CENIC) to upgrade the circuits from 1Gbps to 10Gbps.• Managed project to replace all HPE network switches throughout the GCCCD network with new Aruba switches. The new Aruba switches were configured and verified throughout the week and the switches were installed on the weekends over a six week period.

Directly oversee all aspects of the Information Technology Infrastructure including Telecommunications, Systems Engineering, Network Engineering, and Helpdesk. Negotiated new per minute call rates on long-distance and toll-free and removed redundant services resulting in a cost savings of $120,000 per year. • Design new Network Architecture for the enterprise and implemented it across all 6 sites greatly enhancing communication and collaboration while reducing costs.

As the Information Technology Manager for Bridgepoint Education, a $500 million company that offers quality and affordable access to college education through online and campus-based programs, I was responsible for overseeing and managing the Network Engineering, Telecommunications, and Audio/Visual departments. I managed 9 direct reports in a Cisco-centric network that supported a ShoreTel VoIP phone system and Polycomm video conferencing.• Deployed a secure and seamless wireless network across the entire enterprise. This wireless network infrastructure allowed employees to travel to all sites throughout Iowa, Colorado, and California and seamlessly attach to the wireless network.• Managed data center build-out to accommodate the consolidation of the enterprise network resources.• Replaced core network infrastructure, deployed VoIP telephone system, and implemented a 100Mbps MAN at the company’s Iowa sites. This included the installation and configuration of OC12, DS3, and Ethernet data circuits.• Managed VoIP Telephone system with 200+ trunks that included DS3, DS1, and POTS circuits from multiple vendors.
