I am passionate about raising cattle pre-industrial style. Good News Grass & Cattle raises Dexter and Dexter cross cattle from start to finish. Cattle graze pasture in a managed rotation system from April through November. During the winter, cattle graze set aside pasture along with hay harvested from summer excess. Cattle do not receive hormones or antibiotics as growth promoters. Cows may get an antibiotic injection only as part of an injury treatment ie. birthing complications. Cows and calves receive normal vaccinations.Custom processing is completed at a small, family owned facility in Vanlue, OH.My bookshelf is full of writings of Joel Salatin, Louis Broomfield, and Gene Logsdon as well as many years of subscription to The Stockman Grass Farmer.
