Briana Smallwood is a Mother-Hustler, Goal Digger, and lover of life. As a Corporate Leader by day, Small Business Owner by night, Mama 24/7 and Board Director in between, Briana's value of People is sprinkled in many spaces. In her dedicated full time role as Manager of Customer Support at Newsela, Briana utilizes her 15+ years of communication driven roles to lead a diverse team of genius millennials; while executing company strategy, and delivering on the ultimate goal of ensuring all end-users receive Best-In-Class support while navigating the platform. During evenings and weekends, Briana can be found at her husband's restaurant working elbow to elbow with her Crew developed out of love, sweat and tears (#TeamVivs!). If she is not at the restaurant she is likely leading volunteer missions at Central Furniture Rescue, the non-profit she leads as the VP of Board of Directors; or on a stage speaking to the masses about all things Woman, Business, and People. Briana's mantra is "I will grow everything around me, including myself" and proudly proclaims that the most luxurious thing she's done in her adult life is grow a collection of luxury pajamas & slippers - because no matter how busy life is, rest is not to be negotiated.
