The API increased customer value by allowing them to use Help Scout data in their own applications and gave them the ability to automate importing their own data into Help Scout.- Created a workflow feature in Help Scout's main PHP application that allowed customers to apply rules to their Help Scout tickets and automate tasks that were repetitive and time-consuming. The feature resulted in a significant increase in paid accounts from prospective customers who specifically requested the feature.- Integrated with Google Apps Marketplace providing potential customers with an easy way to sign up for Help Scout and perform initial set up. Utilized Google's single sign-on and user provisioning so that users could easily sign in to Help Scout and managers could quickly set up users.- Designed and implemented a REST API to support Help Scout's knowledge base feature. This API was also implemented using Java and Play Framework and used MongoDB to store data. Also created a website that consumes the API in order to display the knowledge base data to our customers users. This was an add on that requires an additional charge and resulted in increased revenue.- Created a tool that allows Help Scout customers who are moving from a different help desk solution to easily import their historic data. Utilized public APIs to seamlessly import users, customers, help desk tickets and knowledge base articles.- Wrote client libraries in both Java and PHP to make it easier for our developers to work with our APIs.
